These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Monaco Business School, operating the Monaco Academy online learning platform at monacoacademy.com (“Monaco Academy”, “we”, “us”).
By creating an account, browsing the site, or reserving any course or program, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
1. The school
Monaco Academy is the online professional school of Monaco Business School. We deliver self-paced courses and multi-course programs dedicated to the luxury industries — including hospitality, watchmaking, fashion, fine jewellery, yachting, art & collectibles, private aviation and beyond.
Monaco Academy is a professional development provider. We are not an accredited university; the diplomas we issue attest to the completion of our courses and programs and are intended for professional and career-development purposes.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By using monacoacademy.com you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not accept them, you must not use the site or purchase any of our products. We may update these Terms from time to time; the version published on this page at the date of your purchase is the one that applies to your enrolment.
3. Account & eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the law of your country of residence.
- You must provide accurate, current and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Accounts are strictly personal and may not be shared, sold, rented, transferred or used by more than one individual.
- Please notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Enrolment & payment
Prices & currency
All prices are displayed in euros (EUR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to update prices at any time; changes do not affect courses or programs already reserved.
Payment
Payment is processed by our payment service provider. We do not store full card details on our servers. By completing checkout you authorise us (and our provider) to charge the selected payment method for the full amount of your order.
Order confirmation
A reservation is considered confirmed only when payment has been successfully captured and a confirmation email has been sent. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order in case of suspected fraud, pricing error or breach of these Terms.
Invoicing & VAT
Invoices are issued electronically. Business customers may add a valid VAT number during checkout where required.
5. Access to content
- Upon successful reservation, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to access the course or program materials for the duration specified on the product page (or for as long as your account remains active, where unlimited access is indicated).
- Access is granted through your Monaco Academy account and is conditional on full payment and ongoing compliance with these Terms.
- We continuously improve our curriculum: lessons, exercises and supporting materials may be updated, replaced or removed without prior notice, provided the overall pedagogical scope of the course remains substantially the same.
6. Intellectual property
All content on monacoacademy.com — including videos, audio recordings, slides, workbooks, articles, illustrations, photography, logos, brand names, software and code — is the property of Monaco Business School or its licensors and is protected by international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Copy, download (other than as expressly permitted), record, screen-capture or redistribute any course material.
- Resell, sub-license, rent, lend or publicly broadcast any part of the content.
- Reverse engineer the platform or use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access it.
- Use Monaco Academy or Monaco Business School trademarks, name or logos without our prior written consent.
Limited downloads (e.g. PDF workbooks) are provided for your personal study only. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
7. Acceptable use
When using Monaco Academy, you agree not to:
- Share your account or course access with any other person.
- Upload or post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, obscene or that infringes third-party rights.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt or compromise the security or integrity of the platform.
- Use the platform in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right to moderate, remove or restrict any user-submitted content and to take any action we deem necessary to protect the platform and our community.
8. Diplomas
Where a course or program offers a diploma, it is issued in your name upon completion of the required assessments and lessons. Diplomas are personal, non-transferable, and attest to professional development only — they do not constitute an academic degree.
Falsification or misrepresentation of a diploma will result in its immediate revocation and the termination of your account, without refund.
9. Refunds
Our courses and programs are non-tangible, irrevocable digital goods. Once access has been delivered, all sales are final and non-refundable. The full conditions, including limited exceptions and statutory consumer-rights information, are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms — including content sharing, payment fraud, abusive behaviour towards staff or other students, or any unlawful use of the platform.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any amount already paid, save where required by mandatory law.
11. Disclaimers
Monaco Academy content is provided for educational and professional development purposes only. While our courses are designed by industry experts, we do not guarantee any specific business, career, financial or academic outcome from completing them.
The platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from viruses, although we work hard to keep it secure and available.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monaco Business School and Monaco Academy, their directors, employees and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform.
Our aggregate liability arising out of any course or program shall be limited to the amount you actually paid for that course or program in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
13. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Principality of Monaco. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Monaco, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence that grant you the right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
Consumers resident in the European Union may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms to reflect changes in our services, technology or the law. Material changes will be announced in your account and/or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
